Signs of a deal over Kenyons Yard advertising?

Businesses in Kenyons Yard are hopeful of a postponement to remove their advertising boards after a complaint was made to Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC).

The businesses, many of which had signage there for many years, had apparently been given 7 days to remove the signs which runs out tomorrow (Wednesday 30th August).

Commenting on their Facebook page, My Fab Find, one of the businesses affected by the decision, said “We were told the signs have to have planning permission and must be uniformed (they have been there many years).”

So in the mean time we won’t have signs out from Wednesday. We did ask if they could stay up until we have our new ones up (if it goes through planning) but to no avail.

Speaking to Love Andover earlier, Amanda from My Fab Find said they didn’t have a problem with the planning permission, but not having anything up while a decision was made would hit the businesses there.

A statement from TVBC’s Deputy Leader of the Council and Planning Portfolio Holder, Councillor Nick Adams-King said “We have received a complaint about the signage at Kenyon’s Yard and are investigating. We are discussing the matter with the owners of the properties in the hope that enforcement action can be avoided.”
