Firefighters were called to Lidl supermarket on Western Avenue, Andover, shortly after 5:15pm yesterday (Wednesday 5 November), following reports of a small fire at the rear of the property.

Crews from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and quickly extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
Police were also called to assist with keeping the public safe while firefighters dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
“We were called by colleagues from the fire service at around 5:30pm to assist with keeping the public safe whilst they were dealing with a fire at Lidl on Western Avenue in Andover.
“The cause of the fire has been investigated, however following a review of all the evidence available to police at this time, a decision has been made to file this investigation pending any further information coming to light.”
No injuries were reported, and the fire was contained to a small area at the rear of the premises.
