Residents shared detailed evidence with the councillors, highlighting the daily challenges caused by inconsiderate and illegal parking in the area. They described how cars frequently stop on yellow lines and school markings, and how sections of the road become so congested that traffic, including emergency vehicles, cannot get through.

Residents also raised concerns about drivers ignoring ‘No Entry’ signs and using residents’ parking permit areas for school drop-off and pick-up, leaving local people unable to park near their homes. Worryingly, there were also reports of abuse and threats directed at residents who have challenged illegal parking.

The visit was described as very constructive, with councillors listening carefully to residents’ experiences and suggested solutions. The evidence gathered will now be reviewed, and further action by Hampshire County Council will be considered to help improve safety and access for everyone in the area.
