An Andover husband and wife team have set up a new cleaning company, The Cleaning Godmother, to help local people keep their homes clean and tidy.
Carla Goncalves and her husband Tornike decided to work for themselves following previous careers in different sectors. With experience of self-employment and an existing network of contacts, Carla and Tornike now work together to offer domestic, commercial and window cleaning to their clients.
St Mary’s ward member, Councillor John Cockaday, presented Carla and Tornike with Test Valley Borough Council’s £750 Business Incentive Grant.
He said “Carla and Tornike have brought their skills and experiences together to launch a successful business model and they are doing really well.”
Carla said “I’m really pleased we’ve finally been able to set up our own business as we’ve been thinking about it for quite some time. I’d like to thank the Council for the grant which has been a fantastic help for us while we are in the early stages of setting up.”
The Council’s Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive a grant of £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
