Two Men Arrested After Police Seize Cash, Weapons, and Drugs in Andover

Two men from Andover have been arrested on suspicion of multiple drugs and weapons offences following a vehicle stop by police on Monday morning (21 July).

Roads policing officers pulled over a Volkswagen Golf on the A30 near North Waltham, where a search of the vehicle uncovered more than £10,000 in cash, a lock knife, a baton, mobile phones, and a quantity of cannabis.

Further enquiries led officers to an address in Andover, where additional weapons and drug-related items were discovered. Among the items seized were knuckledusters, a sword, an asp, drugs paraphernalia, and more cash and cannabis.

A 29-year-old man from Andover – the driver of the vehicle – was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of criminal property, possession of cannabis, and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

The 22-year-old passenger, also from Andover, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of cannabis, and possession of criminal property.

Both men have been released on bail with conditions until 21 October while further investigations take place.
