Andover Town Council has announced a casual vacancy in the Romans Ward following the resignation of Councillor Jason Sangster.

The vacancy was officially declared on 4th March 2025, and local residents now have the opportunity to request a by-election to fill the seat.
What Happens Next?
If ten or more registered electors from Romans Ward submit a written request to Test Valley Borough Council’s Returning Officer by Friday 21st March 2025, a by-election will be held to decide who takes the seat.
If no such request is received, Andover Town Council will co-opt a new councillor — meaning the council will choose someone to fill the vacancy rather than holding a public vote.
