Whitchurch Silk Mill is inviting visitors to celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship of the South at its Harvest and Heritage Festival, taking place from 23-25 October 2026, from 10.30am to 5pm.

The three-day festival will transform the historic Georgian Mill into a vibrant showcase of traditional and contemporary crafts, featuring more than 20 artists, makers and craftspeople.
Visitors can explore a rich variety of artistic displays and installations throughout the Mill, celebrating skills ranging from willow weaving, embroidery and printmaking, to blacksmithing, floral design, glass art and silk weaving. The festival offers a unique opportunity to meet makers, discover new crafts and gain insight into the heritage skills that continue to inspire contemporary craftspeople.
Adding to the seasonal atmosphere, the Mill and its grounds will be decorated with pumpkins, hay bales, scarecrows and autumn-inspired displays, creating colourful photo opportunities for families and visitors of all ages. Seasonal artwork, craft installations and handmade decorations created by volunteers will also be displayed throughout the site.
Across all three days, visitors can enjoy live demonstrations from skilled makers, including embroidery, botanical casting, weaving crafts, Dorset button making and blacksmithing. Weekend outdoor stalls will also feature local organisations, including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and local honey producer Gamekeepers Honey.
As part of the festival, an Autumn Market will be held on Friday 23 October, welcoming local artists, craftspeople and producers for a day of inspiration and shopping. Visitors will be able to browse handcrafted goods, artwork, decorations and gifts while supporting independent makers.
Brand Experience Manager Nat Hawrylak said, “We’re excited to welcome visitors to our Harvest and Heritage Festival, bringing together talented craftspeople from across the South. Visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy these beautiful displays and discover traditional skills. It’s a pleasure to host this community event, celebrating creativity whilst also helping to preserve heritage crafts for future generations.”
Tickets cost £10 per person and are valid for all three festival days. Annual pass holders can also attend the event. All proceeds help support the future of Whitchurch Silk Mill, the UK’s oldest working silk mill and a registered charity.
