Winton makes a difference

Andover and District Mencap members are excited to have a Winton Community Academy Community day visit.

 

Academy pupils will be making a difference at ADM (Andover and District Mencap) Duke’s Cafe.

CEO Chris Dixon and borough councillor Iris Andersen invited Headmaster Mr Thomas to see where Winton Community Academy pupil’s will be working in their impressive and progressive Duke’s Cafe.

As part of their community day on July 16th, Winton School pupils will be helping Duke’s Cafe members and award-winning volunteers.

The whole school will be engaged in community projects.

“We we want to make a difference in our local community. It’s a great way for our pupils to help,” said Head Teacher Mr Thomas.

Winton Community Academy has a good rating by Ofsted.

The community day is part of the school mission to be big-hearted by helping people in the community.
