An 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on River Way in Andover between midnight and 1am on Saturday morning.

The man approached her, spoke to her and tried to kiss her when pushed her to the ground. An unknown woman then came to the aid of the victim and the man ran off. The woman then walked the victim back to her home address.

The man is described as white, 5’8″ tall of skinny build, around 19-20 years old and with a northern accent. He was wearing blue/black skinny jeans, black trainers and a grey jumper with a red motif on the front.

Detective Constable Matt Dennis of Aldershot CID, said: “This is a rare occurrence and we are keen to speak to anyone who has any information about what happened.

“We would also like to identify and speak to the woman who came to the aid of the victim. She might hold information that could assist our investigation.”
