The spirit of community shone brightly at Chute Recreation Ground on Saturday 10th August, as crowds gathered for the much-loved Charity Cricket Match between The Queen’s Head and Chute All Stars. The annual event once again proved a triumph, raising an impressive £1,800 in aid of the Countess of Brecknock hospice.

The day, organised by Kerry Charles, brought together players, volunteers, local businesses and supporters, all of whom contributed to the outstanding fundraising total. Every penny will go towards providing vital care and support for patients and families who rely on the hospice.
Alongside the cricket, visitors enjoyed tasty food, refreshing drinks, live music and a raffle packed with prizes, creating a festival atmosphere brimming with community spirit.
Organisers extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a part in the success of the event, whether on the pitch, behind the scenes or cheering from the sidelines.
With this year’s match such a resounding success, anticipation is already building for next year’s fixture.
