Compassionate Care at the Heart of New Ludgershall Funeral Directors

A new independent funeral directors has opened its doors in Ludgershall, offering families across the area a compassionate and personal service.

AW Funeral Services Ltd, based at Ludgershall Business Park, is owned and run by local funeral director Alan Wylde, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the profession.

Alan has worked in the funeral industry for 13 years with both large corporations and smaller independent firms, before launching his own funeral support service in 2022. Following its success and the many heartfelt reviews received from families, he has now established AW Funeral Services to provide a full range of funeral options.

The company offers traditional funerals, direct cremations and bespoke services, with a strong focus on personal touches and attention to detail. Families are also able to access chapel viewings – including for direct cremations, at no additional cost – and receive dedicated aftercare through courtesy calls, home visits and tailored support.

Alan explained:

“Every family we look after is treated as if they were our own. Our aim is to provide a dignified and personal send-off for every loved one, working from the heart to ensure families feel cared for and supported.”

AW Funeral Services is currently Ludgershall’s only independent funeral directors, serving the local community as well as surrounding areas including Tidworth, Andover and Salisbury. The business is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Looking ahead, Alan hopes to grow the business further, supporting more families and building strong community connections through local events and charities.

He added:

“Being an independent funeral directors allows us to focus on what matters most – the families we serve and the community we are part of. We are proud to open our doors here in Ludgershall and look forward to supporting local people whenever they need us.”

Families are welcome to visit the new premises at Ludgershall Business Park, even if they are not arranging a funeral, with refreshments available and the chance to look around.
