Andover Armed Forces Day is proud to announce not one, but two headline sponsors for this year’s event: global defence leader Babcock and renowned housebuilder Taylor Wimpey.

Taking place on Saturday, 28 June 2025 at Vigo Recreation Ground, the event promises to be the biggest and most inclusive celebration yet.
Andover, home to Army Headquarters and the Office of the Chief of the General Staff, is uniquely placed to host this important national event, honouring the service and sacrifice of the UK’s Armed Forces. The day will bring together serving personnel, veterans, families, and the wider community for a free, fun-filled celebration packed with entertainment, remembrance, and pride.

This year’s event will feature:
- Military displays and demonstrations
- Community and charity stalls
- Historical reenactments
- Live music
- The return of the crowd-favourite SuperSport Star Contest, where participants compete in feats of strength to win £500 for charity
Both Babcock and Taylor Wimpey bring significant local and national ties to the Armed Forces community.
Richard Rowles, Event Organiser, said:
“We are delighted to welcome both Babcock and Taylor Wimpey as our headline sponsors. Their generous support ensures we can deliver a high-quality event that honours our service personnel and brings the people of Andover together in celebration.”
As a major defence contractor, Babcock plays a crucial role in supporting the UK’s military operations and infrastructure.
Kate Robinson, Managing Director, Through Life Equipment Support at Babcock, said:
“Our Armed Forces play a critical role in keeping our country safe and we are proud to work alongside them. We look forward to joining them at this event which provides an opportunity to celebrate the important work of our military community.”
Lieutenant Colonel Richard Wade, representing Army Headquarters, added:
“Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for the public to show support to the men and women who serve our country, and for the Armed Forces to thank the community in return. Andover is the ideal setting for this celebration. We are grateful to Babcock for supporting this important event.”
Taylor Wimpey, one of the UK’s leading residential developers, is also deeply invested in the Andover area, including its development at The Forum. The company offers an Armed Forces discount on new homes as part of its long-term support for military families.
Sarah Pasco, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West London, said:
“We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Andover Armed Forces Day as part of our wider efforts to support the Forces community around our developments. Many of our customers come from the Armed Forces and we’re proud of the selfless work that they do, superbly supported by their families. We hope that everyone enjoys what is sure to be a fantastic event.”
With strong backing from two major sponsors and a packed day of events planned, Andover Armed Forces Day 2025 promises to be a memorable and meaningful celebration for all. The event is free to attend and open to everyone.
