The club applied for funding through the Persimmons “Building Futures” where they are giving away over £1 million to support children in health, sport, education and the arts through our brand new Building Futures competition.

Andover BMX Raceway hope to be awarded a closely contested public vote decides which 96 finalists win the first, second and third prizes of £100,000, £50,000 and £20,000 in each of the three categories. The remaining finalists will each win £5,000. They have big plans if they win the top prize as they aim to provide their own clubhouse and floodlights.

The club lets youngsters, aged from two years, participate in the Olympic discipline of BMX cycle racing. They offer a safe environment with appropriate protective equipment and coaching. The club is located at a local authority public BMX track and operates out of a temporary container with no onsite facilities. Having their own premises will help increase club hours and participants. Floodlights will open up more sessions in the winter and evening, while they would also like to introduce a pump skills track.

The big winners will be announced on the 8th October 2019.
