Agnes Winchcombe and Victoria Ross of Indiglow on Newbury Street in Andover are celebrating the first anniversary of their Yankee Candle business.

The popular shop sells a whole range of Yankee products, from the small tea lights to the larger, more prominent homewares, as well as other fragranced gift from other manufacturers.

The business has recently received the second instalment of their Independent Retailer Grant from Test Valley Borough Council.

Andover St Mary’s ward member, Councillor Iris Andersen, presented them with the second instalment of the grant and said: “Agnes and Victoria are doing a fantastic job of establishing Indiglow as a popular town centre shop – it smells gorgeous as you walk through the doors! I’m very pleased to present this grant to the two of them and I wish them all the very best.”

Recipients of the £1,000 grant receive £500 after three months of trading and a further £500 six months later.

To be eligible for the grant, new or existing independent businesses must occupy a town centre ground floor unit which has been vacant for at least one month. Qualifying businesses include shops, restaurants and cafes.
