Andover man dies in Sutton Scotney collision

Hampshire Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Sutton Scotney last week.

At around 1.12pm on Wednesday 14 March, a two vehicle collision took place at the junction of the A272 and A30 at Hill Farm Cross involving a silver Vauxhall Meriva and a Mercedes Sprinter van.

The driver of the Vauxhall Meriva, an 86-year-old man from Andover, was taken to Southampton General Hospital and unfortunately he died of his injuries on the morning of Saturday 17 March. His next-of-kin are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the Mercedes Sprinter van, a 25-year-old man from Berkhampstead, Hertfordshire, was not injured in the collision.

An investigation has begun and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, including anyone with any dashcam footage.
