Andover Radio will light up the town at Christmas

Christmas Lights Switch On Andover
Merry: Christmas Lights

Christmas might seem a long way away now, but plans are already being put together for this year’s popular Christmas Lights Switch On.

The event will be on Friday, 16 November and Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) are delighted to announce that Andover Radio will be joining forces with the team to help light up the town.

Andover Radio will play an important role in providing pre-event publicity and news, as well as on the night itself when breakfast show host Steve Randall will be live on the big stage to compère the event.

Steve says, “I’m really looking forward to being back on that big stage. I hosted the event for several years and it’s always felt like the official start to Christmas!”

Leader of the Council, Councillor Phil North commented, “The Andover Christmas Lights Switch On is a great example of local organisations working together to showcase the town at its best.

“Brought to you by TVBC in collaboration with Andover Town Council, Andover Vision and The Chantry Centre, we are delighted to invite Andover’s newest local radio station on board.”

Director of Andover Radio, David Harber added, “The Christmas Lights Switch On in Andover is simply one of the best in the south.  Each year the festive extravaganza just gets better and better and we are really honoured to host this year’s event which is already proving to be a showstopper.

“When we launch we’ll be the only radio station in Andover and we’re thrilled to be involved in getting more local people, more local schools and more local businesses engaged with this, the greatest show of the year.”

Put the date in your diary now so that you don’t miss out on the High Street event of the year!
