Attempted sexual assault in Andover

Andover Police investigating an attempted sexual assault at Rooksbury Mill are appealing for witnesses.

On Thursday (23rd November 2017), a 34-year-old woman reported that she was grabbed from behind by a man as she walked through the nature reserve near Mill Lake.

It happened between 4.50pm and 5.10pm.

Fortunately she was able to get away, but did suffer minor injuries.

Police are conducting enquiries in the area and extra patrols are being carried out to offer reassurance to those in the neighbourhood.

Police are asking for anyone who was in the area around this time to contact them if they saw what happened or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area.

Police also offer advice that reminds people to stick to busy, well-lit areas.
