Police searching for missing Andover man Aidan Bentham have sadly discovered the body of a man this morning (24 May).
The 28-year-old had been reported missing after last being seen on Thursday (22 May) at around 4.30pm, prompting an urgent appeal from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary amid growing concerns for his welfare.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, however Aidan’s family have been informed of the discovery.
Police confirmed that a file will now be prepared for the coroner.
Officers have thanked members of the public for sharing the original appeal and assisting with efforts to trace him. They have also asked for the missing person appeal to now be removed from social media and other channels.
The thoughts of many across the local community will be with Aidan’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
