Dobbies leave hundreds of disappointed local families

Dobbies yesterday sent out an email to all families that have booked to see Santa that the event is now cancelled from Monday. Leaving it far too late for many parents being able to book elsewhere as spaces at other venues are filled.

The email sent out to families reads;

Following the Government update this evening, we have taken the decision to cancel all remaining Christmas events from Monday onwards. Whilst your local restrictions may not have changed, we believe that this is the right thing to do.

We appreciate how disappointing this will be, particularly as we are so close to Christmas, however the safety of our customers and team members remains our priority.

In line with our Book with Confidence policy, we will arrange a full refund which will reach your account within 10 working days.

We wish you all the best for the festive season.

Charlotte LancefieldAmy Bowman says, “we are gutted as I can’t book anywhere else as I booked it for Wednesday as it was my day off and I work the other days! Unsure why they cancelled from Monday but left Sunday as normal “

Krysia West says,” We got an email and I have a 4 and 5 year old absolutely gutted… they don’t understand that Santa won’t be seeing them..”

Gemma Dean says, “We were booked for Xmas eve breakfast with Santa. We are absolutely gutted. Our tier hasn’t changed and they were still allowing bookings to be made whilst we were in tier 2 so why cancel now… so so disappointing. Also to last minute to book anything else.”

Chelle Buckle says, “Why cancel dobbies? Andover is tier 2!”

We are awaiting a reply from Dobbies.

Sabrina Gallagher does offer a glimer of hope she tells us , “There is an app it’s £2.99 where Santa can call your kids and use their names you input what you want him to say my friend showed it to me. I know it’s not the same but my kids were amazed it’s very good. If there isn’t anything else it’s better than nothing”
