Finkley Nurseries Celebrates Awards Recognition And Civic Visit

Finkley Nurseries has marked a standout week, combining national recognition with a civic visit to its flagship Finkley Down Farm Nursery and Preschool in Andover.

Over the weekend, Finkley Nursery Group was highly commended at the Nursery World Awards, recognising the team’s dedication to high-quality early years care and education across its four settings.

Building on that success, the Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Gordon Bailey, and the Mayoress, Karen, visited Finkley Down Farm Nursery following the group’s recent Test Valley Business Awards win in the Corporate section. Children led a tour of the nursery and farm park, sharing their day-to-day experiences.

In true Finkley style, pupils presented the Mayor and Mayoress with handmade medals and cards, and gifted freshly laid eggs collected on the day. The visit also saw the Mayor join in farmyard activities, including feeding the goats.

Finkley Nurseries said the Mayor and Mayoress praised the facilities, staff and atmosphere, noting the nurturing environment and the blend of nursery and farm experiences.

Alison Dennis, Co-Founder and Director of Finkley Nurseries, said:

“I am incredibly proud of our amazing team and everything they have achieved this week. To be recognised at the Nursery World Awards and to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress to our nursery in the same breath is truly special.

“These moments reflect the passion and dedication our staff put into creating the very best start in life for every child in our care. I couldn’t be prouder of what we are building together.”

Finkley Nurseries says it will continue to develop inspiring environments where children feel happy, supported and ready to thrive.
