Maddison to headline Unlocked party and awards

Maddison Douch Andover Rocks

Hugely popular local singer Maddison Douch will headline an outdoor event to thank and praise those people who gave up their time and expertise during lockdown.

95.9FM Andover Radio is co-hosting the Andover Unlocked party at the Queen Charlotte Inn this Saturday (22nd August), where Maddison will perform live, either side of an awards ceremony.

The event is strictly by invitation only and is organised within government guidelines, ensuring that attendees’ safety is of paramount concern.

Victoria Harber, co-founder of the Love Andover Isolation Help Group says, “During lockdown we had over 100 volunteers provide their time to help those most at risk.

“Whereas we can’t provide an award to every single volunteer, there are a good many who have gone above and beyond to assist people with no other form of support.”

Initially the Andover Self-Isolation Help Group, the charitable organisation was set-up by local teacher Tori Rist and Victoria Harber in early March.  The work of the group saw up to 100 prescriptions being delivered each day with almost 2,000 people with no other form of support benefiting from their food and home essentials delivery service.

An evolved service continues as part of Love Andover’s charitable organisation, with support from organisations like the National Lottery and Tesco.

Maddison says, “It’s proof that we live in a great town.  So great to see that so many people got involved with the Help Group over the last few months and to have given up all their free time to help others is such a lovely thing to do!

The ‘Three More Weeks’ and ‘Brave’ singer adds, “Now it’s time to give something back to them”.

If you were part of the Isolation Help Group between March and July, and haven’t received a direct VIP invitation, please email help@loveandover.com to arrange your invite.
