Powder Monkey has officially confirmed that its Andover venue inside the historic Guildhall has permanently closed.

The announcement was made via the company’s website following days of uncertainty surrounding the future of the business, which only opened in October last year.
A statement published online reads: “Unfortunately, Powder Monkey in Andover is no longer open.
“We’d like to thank the Andover community for their support during our short stint at The Guildhall.
“Missing our beers? Come and visit us in Gosport or at Goddards on the Isle of Wight, or have them delivered directly to your door by purchasing from our online store.”
The closure brings an end to the business’s short time in Andover town centre, where it occupied one of the town’s most recognisable buildings.
Andover Radio/Love Andover first reported concerns over the future of Powder Monkey last week after the venue appeared to have closed unexpectedly. Following enquiries made by Love Andover, Test Valley Borough Council initially stated the closure was temporary while discussions were ongoing. Powder Monkey has now officially confirmed on its website that the Andover venue has permanently closed.
Last week Test Valley Borough Council had stated that the venue had temporarily closed for “operational reasons” while discussions were ongoing regarding its future. However, the latest statement from Powder Monkey now confirms the closure is permanent.
The Guildhall site had been seen as a key location within the High Street, particularly ahead of the town’s summer programme of events. It is not yet known what will happen to the premises next.
