POLICE APPEAL: Sexual assault in Andover

Police in Andover are appealing for witnesses as part of an investigation into a sexual assault near London Street.

Sometime between 3.00am and 3.30am on Sunday 30th September, a 29-year-old woman was walking along Eastern Avenue, near the junction with London Street, when a man approached her.

He sexually assaulted her before leaving the scene.

The incident was reported to the police and an investigation is underway.  The victim described the man as aged between 35 and 50 years-old, 5ft 4ins tall, of stocky build and with short, dark hair.

Police say that members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been patrolling the area.
