Thursday 25th November Students from Year 7 at Winton Community Academy, were treated to a storytelling lesson from traditional storyteller, Mike O’Leary.
Mr O’Leary entertained students with folk stories of bygone eras and local stories that have lasted the test of time, engaging both their imagination and creative side of English.
English teachers from Winton Community Academy said, “Students enjoyed engaging with Mr O’Leary and were captivated by the imagination and power that comes with telling the story instead of writing them. Mike O’Leary will be returning later in the academic year to allow those who missed this entertaining opportunity, the chance to experience the art of storytelling at its finest.”
