Residents from the Arbory Residential Home have enjoyed a sunny afternoon at Charlton Lakes as the home kicked off its programme of summer trips for 2026.
The outing saw a group of residents head to the popular Andover beauty spot for an afternoon of fresh air, sunshine and time together, made possible thanks to money raised at the home’s summer fair.
With warm weather greeting the group, residents found some welcome shade beside the lakes, relaxed with cold drinks and made sure there was time for an ice cream.
The home hired a minibus and driver from Unity Online to transport residents to and from Charlton Lakes, helping to make the afternoon accessible and enjoyable for everyone taking part.
The visit marked the first of Arbory Residential Home’s summer trips, with money raised through its summer fair being used to provide residents with opportunities to get out, visit local places and enjoy new experiences together.
A spokesperson for Arbory Residential Home said: “It was a really lovely afternoon and a great way to start our summer trips.
“It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves, spending time together and making the most of the beautiful weather.
“It’s exactly what the money raised at our summer fair is there for — creating enjoyable experiences and opportunities for everyone to get out and about.”
The home said the successful afternoon demonstrated the difference support for its fundraising events can make, allowing residents to enjoy activities and outings beyond the home.
Arbory Residential Home has thanked everyone who supported its summer fair and helped raise the funds which made the Charlton Lakes trip possible.
With the first outing of the summer proving a success, residents can now look forward to more trips and opportunities to get out and about as the summer continues.
