An Andover restaurant has added another major accolade to its menu of achievements after being crowned the best curry restaurant in the South East for the second year running.

Spice Route, based at 101 High Street, Andover, has won Restaurant of the Year – South East at the English Curry Awards 2026, cementing its reputation as one of the region’s standout destinations for Indian cuisine.
The award was presented at a national ceremony at The Grand Station in Wolverhampton on Monday, 10 August, bringing together restaurants and hospitality businesses from across England.
For Spice Route, however, there was an added reason to celebrate. The Andover restaurant also claimed the same regional title in 2025, making this the second consecutive year it has taken home the prestigious accolade.
The latest success is another significant achievement for the independent High Street business and puts Andover firmly on the culinary map, with Spice Route competing against restaurants from across the South East.
Following the announcement, the team said the award belonged as much to its customers and the local community as it did to the restaurant itself.
“We are beyond honoured to bring the English Curry Awards 2026 title home to our incredible town,” the restaurant said.
“This victory isn’t just about the trophy; it’s about every conversation, every celebration, and every shared meal we’ve had with you at Spice Route.
“You believed in us from day one, and this recognition is a reflection of the amazing community that supports us.”

The back-to-back English Curry Awards victories follow international recognition for Spice Route last year.
In 2025, the restaurant was recognised in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, an accolade based on consistently strong reviews and ratings from diners using the travel platform.
For an independent restaurant in the heart of Andover, the growing collection of awards represents more than industry recognition. It also highlights the role local restaurants can play in bringing people into town centres and creating places where families, friends and communities come together over food.
Spice Route said it now wants to celebrate its latest achievement alongside the customers who helped make it possible, inviting diners to gather with friends and family and join the team at its High Street restaurant.
With two consecutive South East Restaurant of the Year titles now to its name, Spice Route has plenty to celebrate – and another national award to bring home to Andover.
