Warning Issued After Car Windows Smashed at Bury Ring Meadows

Andover resident Sian has issued a warning to others after her car was vandalised while parked at Bury Ring Meadows on Saturday afternoon.

The incident took place between 3:30 and 4:30 pm, during which two windows of her vehicle were smashed by an unknown offender. The rural car park is often used by dog walkers and locals enjoying the surrounding countryside.

Sian, who has used the car park many times before without issue, was shocked to return to find the damage. Along with the broken windows, she also reported the theft of her work uniform from the vehicle. The cost of repairs is expected to be £1,150, adding further stress to an already upsetting experience.

She is now urging others to take extra precautions when leaving their cars in remote or less visible parking areas:

“It’s a lovely spot, but clearly not as safe as I thought”

Her experience serves as a reminder for others to stay vigilant when using rural car parks, especially those with limited visibility or foot traffic. Locals are advised not to leave valuables in vehicles and to consider using more secure or well-monitored parking areas whenever possible. Even in familiar spots, it’s worth taking extra care to avoid becoming a target.
