Gemini Netball Club has celebrated another highly successful season, marking a year of impressive performances, community engagement and continued growth both on and off the court.
The community-focused club continues to provide opportunities for players of all abilities, with a clear development pathway beginning with Primary School Bee Netball before progressing through its Yellow Development and Black Competitive pathways for secondary school players and beyond.
Alongside its achievements in competition, Gemini has strengthened its presence within the local community. During the season, club members supported the Andover Primary School Netball Tournaments, helping to inspire the next generation of players, while also organising an Easter Egg Collection in aid of Andover Foodbank, with members and their families donating generously to the initiative.
The club’s continued success is underpinned by a dedicated team of volunteers and officials. Gemini is supported by seven committee members, five qualified coaches, five helper coaches, nine team managers and 17 young volunteers. The young volunteers have played an important role throughout the year, contributing through initiatives including England Netball’s Pass on Your Passion programme and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Officiating has also remained a key area of development, with six training umpires progressing throughout the season. Three of those officials successfully achieved their Into Officiating Award, further strengthening the club’s ability to support matches and player development.
On the court, Gemini enjoyed an excellent campaign across several leagues.
The club proudly fielded two teams in the Hampshire Junior League, competing against some of the county’s strongest opposition. The Under-15 squad produced an outstanding season to finish third, while the combined Under-13 and Under-14 side secured a respectable sixth-place finish in the Under-14 County League.
In the Salisbury Junior League, Gemini entered five teams, providing valuable competitive opportunities for players across a range of age groups and experience levels.
One of the season’s standout achievements came in adult competition, with Gemini entering two teams into the ADNA Adult Andover League for the first time.
The Gladiators enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign, securing the Division Four title, while the Giants also impressed by finishing fourth, comfortably inside the top half of the table.
Players also represented the club at tournaments across Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Stockbridge and Aldershot, gaining valuable experience while demonstrating the club’s growing strength, determination and team spirit against opposition from across the region.
Club officials praised the commitment shown by everyone involved throughout the season, recognising that every achievement has been made possible through the dedication of players, coaches, officials, volunteers and families who continue to invest their time and passion into the club.
Attention will now turn to Gemini’s Summer Camps before preparations begin for another exciting campaign.
The upcoming season promises to be another landmark year for the club, with Gemini set to launch a new partnership with ADNA to introduce the Andover Junior League. The new competition is expected to create even more opportunities for young players to experience competitive netball, develop their skills and represent their local clubs closer to home.
With participation continuing to grow and success being achieved both on and off the court, Gemini Netball Club is well positioned to build on another memorable season while continuing to inspire the next generation of netball players in the Andover area.
