Local TV Star & Adventurer Awarded MBE in Kings Honours List

Well known local celebrity, Jordan Wylie (39) who presents the Pride of Andover Awards each year has been appointed as a member of the most excellent order of the British empire (MBE) in the 2023 King’s New Years Honours list.

The international bestselling author and one of the stars of channel 4’s Hunted TV show has been recognised by the United Kingdoms Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) for his outstanding contribution to charity and children’s education on the Horn of Africa.

Mr Wylie has been volunteering for various children’s charities for over a decade including being a Patron of Andover’s Abel Foundation too, but incredibly, he designed and opened a new school in Djibouti in May 2021 after many years of fundraising to keep a promise to a young boy. We spoke to Jordan who said:

“Wow wow wow, what a shock and surprise but what an absolute honour of the highest calibre. I’m completely lost for words for once but incredibly proud, I hope this will help us do more important work to help inspire children around the world through the gift of education.

“This award represents the continuous efforts of some incredibly selfless people who have helped me for many years. You can never do great things alone in this world and I am very lucky to work with some amazing volunteers who all live to make a difference”
