A motorcyclist has sustained serious, potentially life-changing injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Whitchurch this morning (Wednesday 5 August).
Police were called at 10.45am to reports of a serious road traffic collision at the junction of London Road and Lynch Hill Park.
The incident involved a black and silver Triumph motorcycle and a grey Vauxhall Corsa.
Emergency services, including officers from Hampshire Police, South Central Ambulance Service and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, attended the scene.
The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 60s, suffered serious injuries which police have described as potentially life changing. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
Earlier, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance confirmed that its critical care team, consisting of a doctor and an advanced paramedic, had been deployed by helicopter to the incident at 10.43am. Following treatment at the roadside, the patient was airlifted to hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are now being investigated.
