The South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust’s (SCAS) have invited patients and members of the public to their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 28 September in Oxford.
SCAS is part of the National Health Service (NHS), established following the merger of four ambulance trusts and serves the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire, together with Sussex and Surrey for Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service – an area with a residential population of over 7 million.
Their emergency operations centres handle around 540,000 emergency and urgent calls each year.
Senior executives from SCAS will be on hand to talk about the challenges and achievements of the last 12 months and provide details of SCAS’ plans for the future.
Chief Executive Will Hancock said “I always enjoy these annual meetings and it is great to meet and talk to patients and members of the public who rely on us day in, day out.”
“The 2016/17 year was a challenging one for us as it was for most of the NHS, but at the meeting I’ll be delighted to be able to report on a great many successes including being one of the best performing 999 ambulance services in the country, securing the contract to provide and enhance our urgent care NHS 111 service and the expansion of our non-emergency patient transport service into new geographical areas.”
The Annual General Meeting takes place at the Unipart Conference Centre, Unipart House, Garsington Road, Cowley, Oxford, OX4 2PG on 28 September from 4pm to 5.30pm.
It will be preceded by a Public Board Meeting from 12.45pm to 15.45pm which members of the public are also welcome to attend.
