Book some time in the diary to visit Andover High Street and experience a bumper week of markets and events from today Wednesday 9th to Sunday 13th October!

9th October

There may be an autumnal chill in the air, but the High Street will buzz with the warmth of la dolce vita as an authentic Italian Market, identifiable by the striking red, white and green stalls and decorated with flags, comes to town!

This attractive and vibrant market is guaranteed to tantalize. Running for five days from 9 October, the market provides an opportunity to sample the delicious flavours of Italy and take some authentic Italian ingredients home to inspire midweek suppers.

High Street (Lower) Andover

Saturday 12 October

Andover High Street plays host to a double bill with the Italian Market alongside the popular regular Saturday Street Market.

More pomp and circumstance will be provided on Saturday 12th by the band of the Corps of Royal Engineers; playing to mark the Homecoming Parade of the 22 Engineer Regiment. Weather permitting there will also be a fly past from the Army Air Corps as the locally based Engineers march along Bridge Street and East Street to celebrate their safe return from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Sunday 13 October

This goes one better and provides a triple bill of markets. Alongside the Italian Market, the High Street also welcomes the return of the local Retailers’ Out and About initiative, with 30 local independent retailers taking to the High Street with everything from jewellery to homeware, cupcakes to wine, and food from local company The Filling Station.

At the same time, in the Upper Mall in the Chantry Centre, Bert & Gert’s Vintage Market is back by popular demand, with everything from shabby chic to vintage value and lots of gift ideas in between.

All these events run from 10am – 4pm. The High Street will also resound during the day on Sunday with the sounds of a traditional barrel organ to entertain the crowds.
