A brand-new delivery service for local business customers will be available from Monday 15th June to coincide with many non-essential shops beginning to open again.

Andover Business Improvement District (BID) is launching the service for independent shops (‘Indies’) which will be fulfilled by local company PHAT Services. The delivery service offers safe and secure daily deliveries to the SP9, SP10 and SP11 areas of Andover and surrounding villages on behalf of businesses.

The service is aimed at supporting independent businesses and enabling them to compete with some of the national names that people buy from on-line. Many independent businesses in the town centre area like Photos2Print, Frango Grill and Mooch adapted their business model early on during lockdown to provide online purchases and provide their own product delivery services.

Adam Phillips, owner of PHAT Services says that he is delighted to be working with the BID and Andover town centre Indies to offer this service. He says, “I understand the need to be totally versatile and adaptable in these difficult times and appreciate that some people will be cautious about coming into town after such a long period of lockdown.

“My drivers are fully trained in social distancing and operate and maintain full COVID-19 health & safety regulations.”

Popularly known as ‘It’s the Money Guy’, Adam Phillips will be talking to Andover Radio over the weekend to explain the service an how local companies can benefit from the initially free delivery service.

Andover BID have been keeping local businesses up-to-date with government advice, local council developments and has been available on the phone each day while providing often twice-daily updates through social media channels and local radio station, 95.9FM Andover Radio.

Manager of Andover BID, Steve Godwin remains convinced that the versatility of Andover Indies will enable them to survive and flourish in these difficult times.

“We have been regularly in touch with all the businesses over the lockdown period and have been inspired at how many have fought back by changing or adapting their business models.

“We are fortunate to have so many Indies in the town and they have told us that a way BID can support them is with the introduction of a delivery service.”

The BID have arranged for businesses to access this new delivery service free of charge for a month. Thereafter the prices quoted are significantly below any other delivery or courier service.
