£35,000 free advertising for town centre businesses

Andover Advertising £35,000 giveaway

As retail businesses in Andover begin unlocking their doors, the town’s local radio station with ‘In Andover’ are giving away £35,000 of free advertising.

In Andover’ is a new marketing platform for Andover’s town centre businesses from Andover BID.

In partnership With 95.9FM Andover Radio and part of a new ‘ANDOVER UNLOCKED’ promotion, they have created 70 advertising packages worth £500 each. All of which are available to local, independently-owned businesses within the high street area.

Businesses wishing to claim their free advertising are asked to complete the online form (below).

The Andover BID manager and co-creator of ‘In Andover’ Steve Godwin says, “Now more than ever we must ensure that people are aware of the great range of businesses available in our high street.

“As we work on ensuring that government advice around gatherings and social distancing continues to be followed, we are working closely with Andover Radio to make sure that we publicise and promote the variety of stores around the town.

“We are really excited to get the high street open properly again and have arranged a suite of products to help promote businesses and encourage people into our beautiful high street.”

Each £500 package will include radio advertising, online marketing and access to a large social media audience.  In Andover are also planning to try and giveaway £25,000 in cash with a further £5,000 to be spent in local stores. This fun promotion to drive footfall into the town centre and encourage local shopping will take place in July.

“If our finance director had any hair, he’d be pulling it out over this”, says radio station founder David Harber. “Giving away £35,000 to local businesses, £25,000 to local people with £5,000 guaranteed to be spent locally is a really big move for us.

“Businesses in town have been really hard hit because of coronavirus and we want to do everything in our power to encourage local shopping and help our local shops not just survive but thrive”.

The offer is available to local, independently-owned businesses within the Business Improvement District area which includes the High Street, Winchester Street, Bridge Street and others.  See BID area map here.

Businesses have until the end of June 2020 to claim their £500 of free advertising.

The ‘ANDOVER UNLOCKED’ campaign will also include a festival-style ‘Thank You’ event as soon as social distancing rules are relaxed sufficiently. The event will be to thank those who worked on the frontline and volunteered their services at community groups like the Andover Isolation Help Group.

Details of the £25,000 cash promotion will be fully announced next week.
