Test Valley Borough Council is set to undertake a second audit of Andover town centre’s street furniture including signage and other items, to ensure the area is looking its best. And it is inviting local residents, retailers and visitors to take part.
On Tuesday 9 July local community groups, retailers, members of the public and staff from Test Valley Borough Council will review Bridge Street and London Street. They will look at the purpose, condition, location and maintenance of a variety of signs, seats, surfaces and bollards. The audit will take approximately one hour to complete and participants are asked to meet outside Sainsbury’s at 9am.
More than 20 people attended the first audit of the High Street which took place on 2 July. Feedback included introducing more planting, reducing street clutter and ensuring the area is clean and litter-free.
Councillor Ian Carr, Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, said: “We are keen for residents and retailers to take part in the audit as their local knowledge and views are essential in helping us to improve the town centre.“
Anyone wishing to take part in the second audit is asked to contact Annie Tomlinson, Transport Planner at Test Valley Borough Council on 01264 368984 or email atomlinson@testvalley.gov.uk
