Spiritual Corner With Marie Ponting

We have the pleasure of introducing you to Marie Ponting, a writer for our spiritual corner. Marie is a deeply insightful and intuitive individual who has dedicated herself to helping others along their spiritual journeys.

Her passion for spiritual growth and her profound knowledge of various spiritual practices and teachings have led her to conduct workshops and events that inspire and empower individuals seeking to connect with their inner selves.

Through her work, Marie aims to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their spiritual paths, connect with others, and ultimately find greater meaning and purpose in their lives. So, without further ado, let’s hear from Marie herself!

The wheel has turned once again, we have now passed Imbolc, the snowdrops are in full bloom and I have even seen the odd daffodil, making themselves ready to open their petals to the world. The smell of blossom when I’m walking is starting to linger in the air, with a couple of added minutes of daylight thrown in. The promise of the longer days and evenings waiting in the breeze.

I celebrated Imbolc with a fire ceremony where we made corn dollies, also known as Brigid crosses to celebrate Goddess Brigid, goddess of fertility, poetry, fire and hearth, one of the spring goddesses. She is the goddess I work with most closely, she offers me guidance and reassurance, so it felt very satisfying to my soul to use such a relevant ritual to honour her.

We have also had a couple of the most breath-taking sunrises as mother earth shows us her morning beauty, sunrises can make me very emotional. They bring me a feeling of warmth and comfort, with a wondering of what the day will hold, what will I feel? What will I learn? Sometimes if I’m walking early I have memories of loved ones who are in spirit very vividly. I like to communicate with spirit at this time of day, it’s peaceful, I can listen without interruption. Watch and listen as the memories fill my heart and mind, sometimes they can be a little raw, and it stings, I feel my eyes well with tears. I understand this is all part of the grieving process. I’m taken back to a time with that person, it can feel so very real.

How do you communicate with your loved ones in spirit? Do you hear them, see them, feel them, smell them or do you experience a knowing that they are there? These senses are known as the 5 Clairs, Clairvoyance – seeing, claircognizance – knowing, Clairaudient – hearing, Clairalience – smelling, Clairsentient – feeling. We are all born with these gifts, however as we get older we shut them down, through various different reasons.

This is one of the many things I enjoy with the soul healing I offer. I use Psychometry which is where energy is left on an object, so I connect to that energy to bring the 2 realms together. So for example a lady wanted to connect to her grandad, she brought a rose ornament that he gave her as a child. We used that object to bring the spirit world and this world together so she could experience communication with him again. It’s a beautiful experience.

You can find me on Facebook if you would like to know more about this, I’m always happy to chat spirit, search Self discovery with Astara.
