Local music bands together in support of the Rockhouse

The Rockhouse is the home of local music in Andover. Being the only purpose built venue, the Rockhouse has supported a host of musical talent to hone their craft and entertain.

The not for profit organisation, headed up by local Tony Noakes, has not only provided a brilliant venue for live music, but they are active in the community supporting and raising money for local charities.

As with every music venue, pub and restaurant in the country, CONVID-19 has hit the industry hard. With the Rockhouse being a not for profit organisation they are not cash rich which could potentially result in the venue closing.

On Saturday (2nd May 2020) the local music scene came together and performed in lock down from their homes to raise money for the Rockhouse. The acts that included Marc from Echotape, One Last Thrill, Lizzie Cullen and Jake Ward performed via Facebook live. The event started at 1pm and the last act was at 9:30pm and has so far raised over £2000.

You can head over to the Facebook page and see the acts again and you can still donate here.

Organiser Undy Hunt told Andover Radio “A big thanks to all the amazing artists who played so much talent around here and was such a fun day, also a shout out to everyone who watched and donated we smashed it, big love to all”

The Rockhouse are still operating their food trade for deliveries and have big plans to host a big gig for local bands once they get the green light to not only raise money for the Rockhouse but also to raise money for local bands that have lost income as well in these tough times, any donation of ten pound or over will get you a free ticket to that event of which they will give you more information when they can start organising gigs again.
