Ludgershall Nursery enjoys spooky autumn themed fun

There was lots of autumn themed fun to be had at ‘The Nest’ nursery this week as they celebrated the arrival of the season with some hands-on, spooky fun.

Based at Wellington Eagles Primary, the ‘Eaglets’ couldn’t wait to get messy as they were shown all the sensory activities that had been set up for them in large sandpit style areas. They included making toffee apples, finding bugs in green spaghetti grass with tweezers, getting messy with a foamy spiders’ web, making autumn soup with leaves and seeds and fun hammering nails into pumpkins.

All the activities had been chosen to encourage children to use their senses to explore the objects around them whilst being closely watched by the nursery teaching staff. They were particularly keen on the foamy spiders’ web and enjoyed sliding their hands around in the foam and picking up the plastic spiders.

Play leader Lyanne Morrison said, “The children really enjoy learning new skills and experimenting with different textures, this is a really fun activity for them to immerse themselves in.”

Lyanne continued, “We are lucky to have such a spacious setting for The Nest, both inside and out. The bonus of being part of a school means we have access to the whole school provision including lunch hall and pe facilities.” She added, “We are passionate about creating a safe and welcoming environment filled with varied and irresistible learning opportunities like the autumn activities they’re experiencing today.”

With spaces currently available, The Nest provides places for 2-4year olds in well-equipped Nursery classes run by experienced, fully qualified teachers.
