There’s Vixens on The Prowl

Andover New Street Youth FC is very proud to announce its brand new initiative to encourage girls of all ages to try their hands (or feet?) at football, or to take their current football journey to the next stage.

The Vixens, named after the Clubs home ground (Foxcotte Park), is aimed at school years R to 6, and so far they have been delighted to see over 50 girls attend in just 3 weeks. The sessions are covered by our FA qualified coaches, but much of the actual delivery is delivered by the older players the amazing Andover New Street U14 girls. Amazingly a large number of them have already studied and passed their FA Playmaker qualification, the first step on the coaching qualification ladder.

This week the Super-Vixens made an incredibly generous gesture. The girls have been fundraising for the last 2 years to raise enough funds for their team to attend the National Football Tournament. Sadly, COVID has led to the cancellation of the Tournament two years running. So amazingly they decided to donate £250 to the Vixens to buy new balls and training equipment for the girls that they are mentoring and acting as role-models for.

How to join the Vixens

The Vixens are a fun based football training session every Friday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Harrow Way School for girls in Year R to Year 6. The sessions include equal playing time for all players covered by FA qualified coaches and Un14 Girls Super Vixens. If you are interested in joining, please contact Ali Seth.

Sponsorship Opportunities

As a not-for-profit organisation the coaches and volunteers are unpaid, and they try to ensure parents don’t have to pay any more than absolutely necessary. Vixens will be creating 5-6 new teams for the coming 22/23 season, all of whom will need match kits and there will be many more teams across the club who will need to replace theirs. If you or your company would like to see your chosen logo (your company or a charity of your choice) proudly on display across Hampshire and Wiltshire every weekend, they would be delighted to discuss the options for you to become a Club Partner.

Coaching Opportunities

Are you interested in making a rewarding contribution to grassroots football and the lives of young children in the area?

Maybe you’re already qualified but don’t want to commit to a full-time team coaching role?

Vixens offers a great way to get experience and training across a variety of age groups that is extremely difficult to get through a single age-group team. Andover New Street Youth will organise and fund your enhanced DBS checks and may be able to assist with funding coaching qualifications.
