A-Fest is back on the Andover High Street for the eighth triumphant year

A-Fest, Andover’s youth festival, will be making its way back to the Andover High Street this May after having been live-streamed online on YouTube for the last two years due to the pandemic.

Held on Sunday 8th May 2022, from 10am to 3pm, there will be a variety of stalls highlighting opportunities for young people in Andover  showing there are opportunities, such as martial arts, arts and crafts, dance clubs and more locally.

Katherine Bird, who has been organising A-Fest for the past 7 years, said, “A-Fest is a flagship event for Andover, and is a great way to highlight all of the things that are available locally. I get cross when I hear people say there is nothing for young people to do, when we contact over 60 organisations inviting them to come to A-Fest.”

Marie Ponting, lead organiser of Andover Rocks, will be organising the acts on the stage as local musicians entertain the visitors throughout the day. New to A-Fest this year, and with the support of InAndover, there will be a trail for young people who take part in the festival, with the end prize being supplied by local independent Sweet Ideas.

Dmitrijs Meiksans, co-organiser of the festival, said, “It is so exciting that A-Fest will finally be back on the High Street, where it belongs, and where we can potentially reach the best numbers of young people and truly fulfil the mission of the festival that we continue to hold dear to us: that young people deserve to be able to do something to give back to their community, and improve their skills set.”
