Hampshire Police have advised motorists of the closure on Northbound and Southbound carriageways of the A34 after a serious collision this morning.
Police say they are on scene and working hard with their partners to deal with this incident in the difficult conditions.
There is a full closure on the A34 Northbound at Bullington Cross and Southbound at the A343 so please avoid the area as the closures will be in place for some time.
Hampshire Police said “We would like to thank everyone for their patience while we deal with this.
“If you are stuck in the traffic as a result of this please stay in your vehicles and keep as warm as possible – we are on scene and working hard to try and ease the congestion as soon as it is safe to do so.
We will update with more information as soon as we can.

Motorist Martin Emmerson, who sent the pictures below, said “I’ve been there since about 7:20 am and seen around 15 emergency vehicles attend; a mixture of Ambulance and Police.
“We are being made to turn around and go back on ourselves by the Police.”

Martin has updated us on the traffic situation. “Just spoke to Police. They have stopped turning people around and have opened one lane, so I’m going forwards again!”
