Andover MS society was founded in 1977 by the now president of the Andover and Winchester Groups, Sandy Burnfield.
They started by setting up regular meetings and have now organised a weekly strength and balance exercise class. Part of the weekly support session is dedicated to the delivery of a specialist seated strength and balance class which has been established in partnership with Valley Leisure Ltd to enable those attending to keep strong and steady on their feet. It’s also a nice opportunity for those affected by MS to meet others and provide support and information to help people manage the condition.
Andover MS Society also help vulnerable sufferers with support and also offer small grants to help with the cost of any mobility equipment they may require.
All the helpers are volunteers who help by manning awareness and fundraising events during the year.
The money donated by Andover Carnival will be used to fund the weekly exercise classes, fortnightly therapy sessions and to also be used to fund necessary equipment for vulnerable sufferers of MS so please dig deep for this great charity!
