Black Friday is here, an American tradition that we have seemed to have adopted over the last few years, is a day (Or in some cases weeks) where retailers, both online and in the high street have their biggest day of deals and discounts.
We have been fed huge amounts of advertising and marketing from the national companies with their huge budgets to make us want to buy from them. Local businesses can suffer as a result.
We believe in buying local from our local independent shops in the town and are passionate about the economic growth of Andover. We have a brilliant range of shops in the town and in today’s difficult climate we should all shop local a bit more.
Small independent businesses in Andover will also be taking part in Black Friday, and we want to promote their offerings. So here is your guide to a few Black Friday deals in town:
Mooch: On Bridge Street you will find a gem of a shop that sells a great range of products from jewellery to handbags to home furnishings. So Mooch are not having a sale, instead something even better, they will be donating 5% of their takings to a local charity, Andover Foodbank.
Photos 2 Print: For all your printing needs, Mark and his team will have you covered. Tomorrow you can get 50% off frames, personalised gifts and more. Pop into Photos 2 Print and see them on Bridge Street.
SHO Space: A brilliant new addition to the Chantry Centre this year, SHO Space have a great range of home furnishing products and and on Black Friday you can get 15% on selected products.
Tip Top Balloons & Thorntons: Brilliant shop up Union Street, Dave and Chrissy have a shop load of goodies. Black Friday get your 3 for 2 on personalised advent calendars. Plus pop in and other Thornton special deals, they also stock vegan chocolate too.
La Di Da: On the rear of Bridge street is the delightful La Di Da that has a great products for your home. Steph is doing 20% off all Annie Sloan products, this is extended to Monday. Pop in and see Steph and the great range of products.
David Mellor Jewellers: Inside the Chantry Centre is the wonderful family business, David Mellor Jewellers. Need to get a gift for that special someone? In store they are doing 20% off with a few exclusions. Pop in and see Christine, Amy or David.
The Record Box: Up George yard, Phil has a brilliant selection of records and retro delights. He is having a 50% sale so you must go and have look and grab yourself a bargain.
