Climbing For Children In Need

Andover Leisure Centre Staff Prepare for Children in Need Climbing Challenge

Staff at Andover Leisure Centre have challenged themselves to climb a mountain for Children In Need 2019. On Friday 15 November, the team will be using their new Clip n’ Climb facility to raise money for this fantastic charity.

The team of staff members consists of a wide range of the facility’s staff members, from lifeguards to administrators and management. The team will be scaling one of the fourteen 7.5 meter walls as many times as they can from 12pm to 7pm.

General Manager, Ian Souch said: “We are very proud to be able to use our new High Places attraction to raise funds for this fantastic cause. We wish the team the best of luck and hope our members and visitors will encourage and support the team throughout the day”.

To encourage public engagement with the charity event, the centre will be posting a social media competition to keep the climbers going throughout the day. Anyone booked onto clip n climb on the day can also climb with the team, adding their meters to the cumulative total.

Which mountain do you think the team can climb on the day?

Ben Nevis – 180 climbs of the wall

Mount Olympus – 389 climbs of the wall

Mount Fitz Roy – 448 climbs of the wall

Mount Fuji – 503 climbs of the wall

Mount Blanc – 641 climbs of the wall

Denali – 825 climbs of the wall

Everest – 1,180 climbs of the wall

Keep an eye on Andover Leisure Centre’s social media on Friday 15 November to enter the competition, donate to Children in Need and see how the climbers got on!
