By Marie Ponting

June is here, hooray! With June comes Summer solstice which marks half the year and sees the longest day. I always find Solstice a very heartwarming experience. I love to watch the sun go down the night before and sun up on the day.

I have spent a few Solstice at Stonehenge and I have to sat the atmosphere is electric, I can feel a very masculine energy running through the stones, the beating of the drums and the chanting is always mystical and fills my soul with joy, watching druids in their beautiful long cloaks worshipping the land. What I do find spoils is the rubbish that is left afterwards, this doesn’t make my soul feel so good!

The Celtic goddess of summer is Aine, she also represents wealth and is represented by a red mare, she is usually presented with red or dark brown hair which is always long. She started as being a sun goddess, however as she matured she became a moon goddess. Full moon this month was the 3rd, 4th and 5th of June, perfect time for putting your crystals out for charging.

Spirit talk: so as you know I love my spirit animal encounters and there is one specific one that i would like to share with you from May. I was walking through my favourite forest, it was beyond peaceful, the ferns were taller than me, (not hard considering I’m not quite 5ft) i looked down on my T-shirt and there was the sweetest little caterpillar looking up at me, a caterpillar always represents growth and change, I thanked him for coming to say hello and with that he was gone, this put a big smile on my face.

As I turned to take the track homeward I saw a young buck on my left, he hadn’t caught sight of me or my wolf yet, so I stood and watched him as he grazed in the bushes, he saw me, jumped out into the same track I was on and cantered off in front of me like he was leading the way home, it was a good couple of 100 metres until he darted off into the forest, as he did that I looked to my left and a beautiful butterfly was flying next to my right shoulder. That was dad come to say hi, and reassure me that everything is as it should be and it will all be OK.

Have a blessed June
