Council Grant Awarded To Local Designer

A graphic designer from Ampfield has been given a £750 boost in the form of a Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council.

Alexa Dymond has started her business, Dymond Designs Ltd after graduating with a degree in graphic design and spending time at Andover designers, Symbiosis.

Alexa’s business focuses on branding, design and infographics, as well as illustrations. Following her successful first few months, she was presented with a cheque by the council’s economic development manager, David Gleave.

Ampfield and Braishfield ward member, Councillor Martin Hatley said: “Alexa has a very promising career ahead of her and she is already benefitting from a range of connections across Test Valley. I’m very glad that we have been able to help at the beginning of her journey and wish her every success.”

Alexa added: “I’m so grateful to the council for their support in the early stages of setting up my new business. It can be a daunting experience but I’m very glad that I took the step because I’m already seeing the benefits.

“Hopefully I can continue going from strength to strength and this financial boost has helped me to grow the business further.”

These funds have become available to the community as a consequence of the council’s prudent investments, financial management and use of the New Homes Bonus.

The council’s £750 Business Incentive Grant is available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley.

Entrepreneurs should apply for the grant before they start their company and if it is still going strong six months later, they will receive the cheque.
