The Alice’s Diary #CSEHelpMe campaign launched by us in May 2016 encourages parents, young people, teachers, social workers, other professionals and volunteers working with potential victims of CSE to spot the signs.
The campaign’s striking artwork, by Southsea artist Roma-May Daly, aims to make people surrounding a victim of CSE aware of the signs.
Supporters of the campaign include the charity Barnado’s and the Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Safeguarding Boards.
The role of parents, teachers and friends is really important to identify the signs of CSE and get help for victims, because those wrapped up in the world of CSE are often unable or unwilling to recognise and understand there’s an issue.
Part of the campaign is the Alice’s Diary blog, which is available to read at alicesdiary.org.
The blog written by 15-year-old ‘Alice’, her friends, family and teachers, goes into detail about how CSE happens and can be identified by those around her.
The diary is also a source of help and support to tackle CSE.
