TVBC CLLR Phil North announced on his Facebook page that at the Test Valley Cabinet meeting, they added a project to floodlight Andover BMX track to the council’s capital programme.
With the help of TVBC, Andover Bmx club have raised £75k including £30k from British Cycling to fund the project. The floodlighting of the track will increase the clubs ability to host midweek events with the potential to develop a BMX coaching hub for the southern region. Building on the legacy of Team GB’s Gold and Silver medals at the Tokyo Olympics.
Once complete, Andover will be the only floodlit track outside London and the Midlands adding to the sporting and active lifestyle facilities at Charlton Lakeside.
