It’s all kicking off in Andover!

A group of Monday night footballers are looking for others to play as part of a 24-hour football match for Sports Relief.

The match kicks off at midday on Saturday 17th March with the Street Ahead Teams and ends with the final whistle at midday on the Sunday – assuming it doesn’t go into extra time and penalties!

It’s not just for adults either with “Children Only” times on Saturday afternoon (3:00pm – 5:00pm) and Sunday morning (9:00am – 11:00am).

The venue for the event is the Sports Academy Astro Turf Pitch (SP10 3LF) with entry just £1 per person.

Rebecca, the wife of one of the players, said “It was first dreamt up by a group of gents who have played Monday Night Football together for about 19 years.

They thought they could have some fun while raising money for a great cause. I am the wife of one of those footballers and have been very happy to help with the organisation.

This is the first time we have taken on the task and would love it to become something we do more regularly for Sports Relief.”

To get involved, email the group at 24hourchallenge@mnf.me.uk

Sponsor forms will be given to all sign-ups to get fundraising in and there is a Just Giving page at https://my.sportrelief.com/sponsor/24hourfootballchallenge you can donate to.

All monies raised will go to BBC Sport Relief.
