Join the ‘Mischief Makers’ and help children reading

Do you like working with children? Got a few hours to spare over the summer? Then join the ‘Mischief Makers’ as a Summer Reading Challenge volunteer.

Hampshire Library Service is encouraging adults and teenagers to volunteer for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.

Volunteers need to be aged 14 and over, and ready to spend a few hours at their local library each week this summer, to help children complete the Reading Agency’s scheme to read six books over the holidays.

You can register your interest as a Summer Reading Challenge volunteer in the 14-18 category or over 18 category online at www.hants.gov.uk/library

The Summer Reading Challenge runs from 14 July to 16 September. This year’s theme is Mischief Makers, in honour of the 80th anniversary of the Beano, a firm childhood favourite for many.
